SMIL is a Nordic cooperation project administered by the Nordic-Baltic Association for Medical and Health Information and run by the Library for Medicine and Health Sciences at The University of Oslo.
The object is to collect quality assessed websites in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish with information about diseases, disabilities, diagnosis and therapy. The Scandinavian languages are quite similar, and information about a disease in one Scandinavian language can be used in all three countries and also partly in Finland and Iceland.
SMIL has the intention to present a selection of web pages based on quality criteria. Each link leads directly to the information, which can be short or detailed. You will also find links to patient organisations and other organisations, information services and portals for user information.
Librarians and nurses from Norway, Sweden and Finland cooperate on finding web pages for SMIL. All information in SMIL is collected from the Internet, critically appraised, indexed and commented on.
